Press Release on “UAE Promoting Renewable Energy and Environmental Technology ”, Dubai - 12- 14 Feb 2007

Zayed International Prize for the Environment, represented by Dr. Mohammed Bin Fahad, Chairman of the higher committee, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Quality Fairs represented by Mr. Dherar Al-Hussaini, Managing Director. Zayed Int'l Prize for the Environment is a non-profit Organization which grants the biggest prize in the field of Environment and encourages all activities that maintain environment worldwide such as (Clean Energy, Recycling and Waste control). Quality Fairs is leading event management firm (Exhibitions, Trade shows, and Conferences).

The main objective of the Agreement is to cooperate and collaborate in organizing events (Exhibitions and conferences) in the field of renewable energy (i.e. Biomass, Fuel Cells, Solar, Tidal, Wind…) and environmental technology, that promote sustainable development. Moreover, ENVIROTEX / RENERGEX 2007 will be the premium event (Exhibition & Conference), which will be held from12- 14 Feb 2007 in Airport Expo Dubai. The international premiere event in the Middle East specialized in renewable energy and environment that will be held under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy, and in collaboration with UNEP (United Nation Environment Program), UNIDO-ICHET(United Nation Industrial Development Organization Int’l Center for Hydrogen Energy Technologies), and Dubai Municipality.

Renewable Energy and environmental issues similar to the “Global Warming” causes and effects are on the list of the world most important concerns. Being one of the most important energy producers in the world, and being committed to the international efforts put in the Johannesburg plan of action for sustainable development, and the Kyoto protocol which emphasize on reducing the global pollution by investing in the renewable energy, the UAE government continues to emphasize the importance of solving such international matters through such meeting and transfer of technology.

ENVIROTEX / RENERGEX will reveal the updated technology in the environmental sector, renewable energy and Hydrogen economy across the globe. The Exhibition will gather local and international companies and environmental organizations concerned with all sorts of clean energy (i.e. Biomass, Fuel Cells, Solar, Tidal, Wind…) with large number of local and international visitors in high-quality business atmosphere and harmony. On the other hand the conference will congregate high caliber speakers from government sectors and, international environmental organizations such as UNEP, international renewable energy associations represented by UNIDO - ICHET, universities, research centers and leading international renewable energy industry. The conference will focus on vital issues relating to renewable energy; “Global Warming” causes and effects; opportunities and challenges that are facing the application and marketing of clean energy.

The expected high caliber guests will include CEO's and Managing Directors of blue chip companies, Heads of Strategy, Business Development Managers, Oil and Gas Executives, Large Energy users, Local Utilities and Environmental Managers. Additionally, we anticipate strong support from top government officials, VIP's and other leading influential business figures from the UAE, Middle East, and Worldwide. Dubai, which acquired prestigious international reputation and is considered the heart of international events in the Middle East, was found as the international hub to host such events for the strategic and vital position in the Middle East in addition to being considered a perfect place to expand and enrich businesses.

The Zayed International Prize for the Environment, along with its partner Quality fairs, look forward to facilitating the foundations for alternative energy economy in the Middle East.
