The Dubai International Conference on Integrated Management of Water Resources in the Third Millenium, Jumeirah Beach Hotel – Dubai - 2 - 6th February 2000, in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the Arab Water Council. Workshops, seminars and a comprehensive Exhibition on Environmentally Sustainable Technology related to Water and Energy were organized in tandem with the conference. The outcome was the "Dubai Declaration on Integrated Water Resources Management in Arid Regions" which was printed, distributed widely among countries of Arid Regions and adopted by the UNEP, Arab Water Council and the Arab League. It was later followed up in 2003 in a conference on "Water Resources Management in Arid Regions" held in Kuwait.
